does not come with live caterpillars, but instead allows you to claim them online, giving you the flexibility to start raising your butterflies when you are ready. This makes the kit a perfect choice to give as a gift, and also gives owners the option to wait for the right season or temperature to raise butterflies. As soon as you are ready for your caterpillars, simply go online and claim your baby caterpillars to have them shipped live to your door.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Outdoor temperatures must be between 55 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit when you release your butterflies.
• Insect Lore can only ship live caterpillars in the continental United States and Alaska. They cannot ship to Hawaii or outside the U.S.

• Beautiful, reusable habitat for raising Painted Lady butterflies encourages an appreciation for nature and an interest in Entomology.
• Cup of Caterpillars™ arrives with food; caterpillars are extremely easy to care for!
• Once they’ve hardened into chrysalides, move them to the Deluxe Chrysalis Station™ (included with the Cup of Caterpillars) and place that in the habitat.
• Watch the butterflies emerge from the chrysalides!
• Once it’s above 55 degrees outside, you can set the butterflies free and then order yourself another batch of caterpillars!
